While this is REALLY good, especially with the loss of Lacey, people NEED to pump the brakes on the "they got the best defense in the nation!" talk. Let them show it first. Setting ourselves up for a huge dose of FML if we don't slow down.

Huge amounts of potential, but most of them are inexperienced. If they work their tails off and get coached up properly and don't get a lot of injuries, we shall have the 'competitive depth' we NEED on the D line for the SEC road ahead. A lot of 'ifs', but some hope. Not like the 'fingernails on chalkboard' D trends of the muleshoe era.
This was talked about a couple of weeks back, but perhaps he had to finish up things at his previous job and get contract details ironed out. Seemed like he worked with Venables at Clemson while he was a student and is regarded as an up and coming talent.
With the additions of Williams and Lole, that should really help the DL. Getting excited for the season, itβs looking like it could be a good year. The pressure is on this staff now, the roster looks like itβs ready to make some noise, if BV and crew still lose games because of poor coaching decisions his seat could get hot.

i think, hopefully, the poor coaching decisions were taken care of by good coaching decisions (addition by subtraction) so to speak... we'll see
Psalm 34:14: "Depart from evil, do good, seek peace, and pursue it."
"what deliverer could break the power of Pharaoh?"

Hope we now have coordinators who are ... coordinated.
I think it was about this time, 25 years ago today, that I was standing in line to donate blood at the Red Cross on North Base. Had left my house in far NW Norman because the big tornado was getting too close. Went to the Vista restaurant downtown to watch, but it was all rain-wrapped. Then heard they needed blood for all the injured folks. Lots of people showed up to donate. A young lady who was an OU ballerina was standing in line right ahead of me. She was wearing a black evening gown and pearl necklace, because they were supposed to have an awards banquet that night. Instead, she was studying a textbook for a final exam and giving blood. Only one person behind me in line was able to give blood that night, because the Red Cross ran out of bags to fill.
