Since the forum first started two months ago, we have not had to ban anyone permanently. We did have to ban an advertising bot and a couple of people got a one day timeout, but other than that, things have run fairly well.
This board is for discussion of OU sports. We recognize that any friendly community sometimes wants to talk about different topics that may not be related to the principal topic, so we created a separate section where people could opt into those discussions as they want.
Today, however, we were forced to permanently ban a member. Many of you may have never seen him since he only posted on political discussion. This individual was also very pugilistic in his approach to these discussions. When warned about his behavior, he responded by saying he was going to keep doing what he was doing.
I want to point out that we did not ban this person for his political stances but his behavior, his lack of contribution to the primary focus of the board, and his unwillingness to modify his behavior when approached by the mods.
