Was the deadline May 1? Did we add any last minute guys? Would suck to lose em the last minute and unable to fill the spot

Sunday, May 1st was the deadline, as everyone knows, but it could take a couple of days for players to officially hit the portal as their paperwork is processed.  Most likely everyone that shows up by today are eligible to play next year, after that the sitting out or waiver would be the options. 

Supposedly, because May 1st fell on a Sunday, the schools have 48 hours to enter the player into the portal.  If that's accurate, then we should know everyone by the end of today, I'd think.

Great.  Someone agreed with him. LOL

So you can enter portal by then but teams can take you later...say we have so many spots and we can grab a few that entered in time later in May and they'll still be good for next year ...correct?

Plus BV only allowed Harrington to come back as a walk on...I was surprised they waited so long thru spring to allow him back...the winter workouts would had benefited him

Haven't picked anyone up, yet...

anyone who is in the portal now, is still up for grabs.  Some of them are new additions this week, so we'll see.  I think there's a WR from Arizona State who is visiting this weekend, but I can't seem to find the post.  Thought it was here or TFB, and it mentioned a second visitor this weekend, but I don't remember who or what position.

Then there seems to be some interest in a WR from Missouri (JJ Hester).

Pretty clear that we're looking to take a WR or two, and then if there was a quality backup option for QB, but that may be tough to find.

I think that's a pretty fair assessment for guys who are in the portal for a long time.  you may find someone who can provide some quality depth at a skill position or a project lineman type; but if you're looking for someone who's going to step in and be a star, then that guy is likely only going to be in the portal for a short period of time.

That said, the two receivers I mentioned have only been in there since roughly Tuesday, so who knows.  With the number of receivers Lebby likes to have for rotation and practice purposes, I think either/both could come in and contribute.

Now, QB is a different story.  Sometimes a team may NEED a "body" that isn't even expected to be 3rd string, so that we can run practices... but I don't think that's the case.  I think our ideal situation is that we have a guy with at least SOME game experience, so that we don't have to throw Evers into a fire if something bad happens <knocks vigorously on wood>.
