Since there are so many RB's that have been successful at OU I decided to break the best of into two era's. Wishbone, and post wishbone.
This is the wishbone era. I included any back with > 3000 yards in his career.
BTW Steve Owen is technically wishbone ere, but I included him anyway. I don't know enough about the era prior to that to pick a good RB list. If someone who remembers the Wilkinson era well enough to make such a list, feel free to create a poll for that era.

Pure WB probably did not exist after Joe Washington's tenure. Sims was a great RB. OU ran wishbone, but had a lot of I-formation style plays to emphasize Sims. Fewer options during that time.
Rating RBs from OU is beyond difficult when comparing styles and players around them... let along eras.
Taking the most literal view of "Wishbone era," I say Greg Pruitt. Looking at a career and during the Switzer era, I would likely say Sims is the best RB.
PS - Plenty of choices in the Bud Wilkinson era. In fact, there are three distinct zones of that - Early, 47-straight, and late 50s.
Billy is probably the best, but nobody got you off your seat more the Little Joe. He was our version of Barry Sanders. He remains my favorite Sooner RB of all time.
