In a way I'm glad the guys opt out...this game isn't significant and it helps the young player get more practice reps and game reps which will bode well for next season ...I'd like to see Sawchuk released if he is in fact ready to contribute ...no worry about losing his redshirt at this point and the game speed will be good for him

Kind of using it like a spring game? Not a bad idea. Good way to get BV’s guys meaningful reps.

I'm not real sure where to look to confirm my suspicions, but I think he's in the same Kanak boat; played STs and got minimal packages on O.

just hoping the extra practices and game experience pays off for some of these kids that didn't see the field much this year
I'd be fine treating this like an NFL preseason game. The starters play a couple of series then spend the rest of the game with the guys fighting for roster spots. I suspect BV has too much respect for the game to do that, but this season is a waste if it doesn't build the team for the future.
NCAA waived the game counting against players that were saving their redshirt...who all will that help us get on the field?
Since this only affects players with exactly four games participation, Nate Anderson and Shane Whitter are the only two scholarship players that aren't already in the porta. I will say that this may not be accurate because the participation chart on Soonersport.com has Mims as only playing in for games.
I seen Sawchuk had a knee brace on...I guess he got hurt at some point ...hopefully he's full go and we finally see him get the ball in space

I watched it again...it was 23...not 27...good deal for him...sounds like he's gonna get some looks if they are even giving Farooq looks then there is no reason he doesn't get to get some touches ...can't wait to see his speed in space
