Score Prediction Thread 2023: Week 1 - Arkansas State

Now that we see the depth chart, I see the first quarter as having strong, short runs and looooong passes.  After that, the RBs might break half-a-dozen 40 yarders.  BV "says" that JA will play more than mop up.  This means scrambles by him and some nice throws.  

I expect aggressive defense, which might lead to turn overs but will lead to stops.  2nd and 3rd teamers will play with their hair on fire.  I just hope the coaches allow them to play with a full playbook.  

This thinking gives me these quarters - 

17-0
14-3
21-7
7-0

Thus I predict, OU 59 to 10. 



*** My single fear is that Beville plays a full quarter and the 7-0 is actually 0-7.  

Just curious about the 58 - Do you believe the Sooners make 3 FGs or 1 and miss a PAT?  OR - more creative way to 58 (like 8 TDs and a safety)?  

I'm going 45-17 OU. I suspect we'll have the typical first game gaffs, but "competitive depth" combined with the heat will leave OU winning going away.
